In the fiscal years 2017-2018, under the direction of the Government in Tanintharyi Region, a concrete jetty with a pontoon measuring 120 by 36 feet and ramp measuring 408 by 12 feet was constructed in the oil field district in Myeik. It serves both passenger and cargo vessels in an area covering 10 villages along the Tanintharyi river, 3 villages along the sea coast, and 10 villages in the islands.
